We work with the best Partners and have first class University links offering a strong tradition of supporting trainees through ITT programmes.
Quality teacher training and development pathways make Northamptonshire an excellent choice for 7,000 ambitious, high performing teaching professionals.
We have experienced leaders with breadth of skills, knowledge and experience, available to support, train, mentor and coach in mainstream and special school settings.
As Maplefields Teaching School Alliance, we have worked since 2014 with our strategic partner special schools to facilitate initial teacher training, provide school-to-school support, behaviour outreach support and training and development, widely to schools in Northamptonshire and beyond.
The introduction of the teaching school hub programme, which aims to create 87 centres of excellence for teacher training and development across the country, replaces the previous network of around 750 teaching schools, including our own, in August 2021.
As a result, we have reviewed the impact of our work, our offer to schools and the feedback we have received over the years and plan to continue under our new name of Maplefields Training and Development from 1st September 2021.
Teaching school hubs will provide high-quality professional development to teachers at all stages of their careers and we will be working with the Northamptonshire Teaching School Hub who will play a significant role in delivering school based initial teacher training (ITT), the early career framework (ECF) and the new specialist NPQs.
In addition, we will continue to provide school-to-school support, which forms a separate arm of the DfE, our tailored behaviour outreach, high quality training and development and our ITT programme as the lead school in partnership with SAF (Sharnbrook Academy Federation). At Maplefields Academy, we strive to motivate pupils who have so far found school a challenge by providing a safe, calm, caring learning environment which is stimulating through the richness of displays and the caring, nurturing approach and encouragement given to each pupil by staff. We work to foster a sense of belonging and to provide the opportunity for all pupils to develop a sense of self-worth, confidence and control over their lives.
